As you are all no doubt aware, the School Census is on the 20th January.

In keeping with previous Spring Census collections, data is collected at a specific point in time for classroom activity. The selected time is based on the last digit of the Dfe school number as below.

Last digit of DFE number:

0, 1 or 5                             The selected time is one hour before the end of morning school

2, 3 or 6                             The selected time is one hour after the start of afternoon school

4, 7, 8 or 9                         The selected time is one hour after the start of morning school

To help you complete the Census, there is documentation available by clicking here. This contains amongst others a Headlines document detailing useful information such as dates, data collected and any fields that have been added or removed this year. There are also two powerpoint demonstration files that provide step-by-step screenshots detailing how to prepare for and produce the Census. These files are quite large so may take some time to open.
